Meeting the Judges

1st August 2015~ my lovely VIPs arrived at different times of the day. So excited to see all of them!! Our team made special arrangements to pick each one of them from the airport. To & fro multiple trips to the Changi Airport #notcomplaining #anythingfortheVIPs

Drove pass the NDP rehearsals~ and they were in awe by the sea of red and the majestic scale of the whole parade. One united nation~ at that point.... apart from the hot Sun, I feel a huge sense of patriotism.

Made our way to the hotel to check in~ then to the restaurant for a Judges meeting. This year's PinkRoom Cup, I've invited Eriko & Ms Miyuki, the representative from Japan's Nailist Association (JNA). So so so honored & happy with their presence.

All went well despite the small tiny language barrier. Nail-language is the universal language between us. Appreciate everyone's hard work and seriousness throughout the whole meeting.

Mini autography session took place after the meeting~ LOL. Judges singlehandedly, personally, lovingly, signed each and every piece of the PinkRoom Cup 2015 Certificate of Participation. So nice right??!! So much love from them...

Appreciation night

They say, "Work hard, Play hard." Indeed, we had a memorable day at Pink Your Nails, Colour Their World charity event.

I am really really touched that so many of our graduates and students actually make time for the charity event. To the extend of applying leave from work! #super感动 to see everyone get together for a good cause. The event was a great success thanks to everyone of you!

To show our appreciation, PinkRoom organized a party to reward everyone who had worked hard along with us, including all of our partners and PRINA salon network members ♡♡♡

The theme for the night was " Something Pink"~ I reckoned it was be the prefect theme sinow we are Pinkroom!! LOL~ so all the other themes suggested such as retro night and PJ party was cold storaged.

And yes, everyone kept to the theme. Haha!! I was actually worried they won't cus not many people actually WEAR pink. So every time I see the students in school, I'll nag them to keep to the theme. Look~ the results was spectacular!! I love you all!!!

***group photo***

Glad that our team managed to get food sponsors for the night too~ as it won't feel right to spend on food & celebrations. The money would have gone a longer way to helping the street kids.

We had cupcakes, traditional kueh from D'cake and pizzas from Pezzo Pizza!! Much loves~ and thankful to the sponsors for bringing the food down to PinkRoom. It was a pity they couldn't join us in the celebrations.

We had a nice catch up networking session. Something that we didn't had amy chance to do in the past. Our grads and students have feedback that they enjoyed such sessions, so looks like there will be more to come. I guess it's only during such times that we all put time aside from our busy work schedule and appointments to make time for our friends.

I also shared with our PRINAgals the latest nail trend that is popular in Japan right now! It is always about motivating and inspiring our girls with new and creative ideas so they stay up to date the latest nail trends.

Certificates of appreciation were also prepared and given out to students to show our gratitude and as a souvenir for memory.

I was glad that all of them had fun that night and I guess the pictures tell it all. They really did had a moment with the selfies and party props. It also reminded me that it is as important to bond with my students and enjoy our time together apart from the lessons in class.

Looking forward to more events to come, and wishing everyone a good and fruitful weekend ahead~

THE WEEK AHEAD:

It has been a while since I last met up with Eriko. When we had time and were together, we would have so much discussion about various nail art, nail techniques and nail tools in each other's country! I do miss her but I guess I'll just make do with the memory of our interview and features for now.

Both of us are featured in Japan's popular Nail Up! Vol.58 issue and in that article (see below), it describes our journey in the nail industry in detail. Coming from a little red dot, I am, of course, very honoured to be working with Eriko and getting featured in a Japanese magazine (not just any mag, but Nail Up!, which is pretty amazing!).

My journey in Singapore's nail industry has been a long and tedious one, making mistakes along the way and learning some valuable lessons from past mistakes. Alas, my hard work has paid off in the most unimaginable way and I'm thankful for all those who had came into my life and contributed to The Pink Room International Nail Academy.

It was Easter Day last sunday and one of my student gave me this set of Easter Bunny ears and nose. It's super adorable and my staffs and I decided to put it up on our glass doors (HAHA)!!

On a much somber tone, I'm glad my students thought of me on Easter Day and got me such a cute deal. THANK YOU AL

#hugsandkisses #drownyouwithmylove

On a side note, I've been browsing through the web for all the latest nail art. I may be a principal, educator and a judge, but I'll still have to keep myself updated and on trend!

Anyway, I found this particular nail design which features an accent on just the ring finger and I'm in love with it. It is suitable for bridal nails, but if it were for daily wear, it's a soft and muted form of chic and hipster style.

I'll definitely be pimping my ring nail with this design this weekend! ;)

The week ahead is still long since it's only the mid-week, but I'm looking forward to my overseas trip with my students for their international nail examination! [I hope they've been practicing hard!] From the bottom of my heart, I wish them all the best and let's have fun together on that trip!

Mid-Week Blog (Break Time!)

Had a short break so I'm going to do a proper blog post now.

This week is the so-called "workshops" week, conducting workshops after workshops and guiding our students to master a themed nail art. On Monday, I had the Gellish Manicure Class, teaching the techniques and precautions of using gel polish and on Tuesday and Wednesday, I was totally immersed in teaching the Melody Pro Nail Art Class~

Hehes, it was an afternoon of 'kawai'.

Of course, being featured in Japan's Nail Up! latest issue (Vol.58) has the highlight of the week for me too! My good friend from Japan, Ms. Eriko, and I did an interview together and I even brought her around Singapore! It was a rare "day-out" for me where I finally managed to truly enjoy Singapore. I thank God that the weather then was all sunshine and breezy!

Eriko has always been very passionate about nail art just like me and we would always text each other about nail trends in Japan or Singapore, exchanging ideas and tips. It is also why when I wanted an international judge to be present at our Pink Room Cup, Eriko was my first choice!

Read more about our interview below or you can grab a copy of the magazine at Shoppink Room, located at International Plaza #06-18.

Finally, I'm really looking forward to the upcoming Open House next Monday! The previous one was really great and I got to meet ladies who are genuinely interested in nail art. There was even a lady from Indonesia, who committed to flying over to Singapore for half a year just to study with us!

I am extremely touched and I vow that Pink Room do its best to train our students, xoxo.

Well, it's only mid-week so I'm going to 'gungho' a bit more and push through till Saturday (Pink Room closes only on Sun)! Wishing strength and good luck to all those working hard on a Wednesday too!

LAST WEEK OF MARCH ALREADY??

Omgoodness, it’s the last week of March! I’ve barely finish planning nail art workshops for the month of April…

Well, to update you girls, this coming April, Pink Room will be having a Melody-ProNail Art Class and we will also be having the Knit Hi-5 Seminar again.

Do stay tune to Pink Room’s FB Page for more upcoming workshops: https://www.facebook.com/PinkRoomNails.PRINA

Well, other than fancy nail art workshops, do you girls know about the few basic foods that can give you strong, healthy nails? Scroll down to find out!

It has been another fulfilling week and the recent Knit Hi-5 Seminar has been rather meaningful for me. It really warms my heart to see that there are girls willing to pick up such an intricate technique!

I still remember when I first learnt it myself, it was not easy! As I had classes and events to attend in the morning, I had to stay up during the night to constantly practice this Japanese knitted design. Although it’s difficult and back-breaking, I was so infatuated with this nail design! It is so cute~

When I finally mastered it, my first thought is to tell all Pink Room’s students about it so they don’t have to start learning from scratch like I did. Save time for them! The Knit Hi-5 seminar that happened last Wednesday was a fruitful one and we had such a long session that it ended around 9 plus at night! Hahas, too much loves and feels for this nail design.

Well, I’m in the midst of prepping for another Knit Hi-5 Seminar this coming Monday, do join me if you’re equally passionate about this nail design! Cheers and peace girls XOXO
